1. ADWORDS – Also called Google adwords and it is an advertising service run by Google for businesses who want to advertise on Google and its networks.

2. BLOG – A website or web page containing personal experiences, observations or opinions, having links to other sites.

3. B2B (BUSINESS TO BUSINESS) – This denotes transaction(s) between businesses over the internet.

4. B2C (BUSINESS TO COMMUNITY) – This denotes transaction(s) between a company and its end-users or its target audience.

5. CPC (COST PER CLICK) – This is an internet advertising model used to direct traffic to websites, it is the price in which an advertiser pays a publisher when the advert is clicked on.

6. CTR (CLICK THROUGH RATE) – This is the way to measure how successful an advert has been in capturing users’ interest. The higher the click-through rate, the more successful the advert has been in generating interest.

7. GEO-TARGETING – This is the ability to capture a specific audience based on location. It uses IP address(es) to find individual locations and advertises ads from the nearest local content to the user.

8. GOOGLE ANALYTICS – This is a free service offered by Google that provides statistics and basic analytical tools for search engine optimization (SEO) and marketing purposes.

9. GOOGLE GRANTS – This is a donation program from Google that distributes free in-kind advertising to selected 501 nonprofit organizations.

10. HASHTAG – This is a word or phrase preceded by a hash sign (#), It is used on social media sites such as (Twitter, google plus and facebook) to identify messages on a specific topic.

11. KEYWORD – This is a word or concept of huge significance to finding content on search engines.

12. PR (PAGE RANK) – This is an algorithm used by the Google web search engine to measure rank value of pages which indicates an importance of a particular page.

13. RSS (REALLY SIMPLE SYNDICATION) – This is a technology that allows people to receive constantly updated content without having to revisit a website.

14. SEO (SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION) – This is a concept of improving a website to enhance search engine visibility, and to ultimately help you attain a higher spot in search results.

15. SMO (SOCIAL MEDIA OPTIMIZATION) – This is the use of a number of social media outlets and communities to generate publicity to increase the awareness of a product, brand or event.

16. SMS (SHORT MESSAGING SERVICE) – This is a service available on most digital mobile phones and other mobile devices, e.g. a Pocket PC, or occasionally even desktop computers, that permits the sending of short messages between mobile phones

17. URL (UNIFORM RESOURCE LOCATION) – This is an internet address, used as an address for classifying where documents can be found on the Internet.

18. WAP (WIRELESS APPLICATION PROTOCOL) – This is a standard that enables users to get access to information over a mobile wireless network. This information is instant and the devices used include mobile phones, pagers, smart-phones and communicators.

19. WEB 2.0 – This is the second stage of development of the Internet, characterized especially by the change from static web pages to dynamic or user-generated content and the growth of social networking

20. WWW (WORLD WIDE WEB) – The number one vehicle for digital marketing efforts.
